FAM-T Bargaining, Day 13

This morning, FAM-T finished presenting our complete economic package, including compensation and benefits. We have fully addressed the needs and priorities of our members, and we look forward to fighting to get these in the contract! You can read all proposals and counters at our Proposal Tracker.

Proposals passed today include Employee Health Programs, Flexible Spending Accounts, and Other Insurance (life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and long-term disability insurance). These proposals protect and expand faculty members’ current benefits.

We also reached two tentative agreements (TAs) this afternoon: Dues Deduction and Non-Discrimination. Our agreed-upon Non-Discrimination article protects marginalized faculty and faculty who engage in union work from unfair and illegal treatment.

We remain committed to making sure we complete our contract by the end of this academic year! Our action on Friday (February 23) at the Board of Trustees helped us to make progress today. Continued efforts will demonstrate to management the need to Work With Us, Not Against Us.

Speaking of, heads up faculty: the university wants the ability to fire you whenever they want to; are you okay with that? At our next bargaining session on March 6th, we’ll be addressing Management Rights, and you won’t want to miss it. We’ll be bargaining at the Voice of America Learning Center in West Chester. Your presence is needed to show the university that we are prepared to fight for our rights. Be there! 💪
