We are the Faculty Alliance of Miami (FAM). Through teaching, research, and community involvement, we generate the knowledge and dialogue that a democratic society requires from a public research university. Every day, across ranks and campuses, Miami’s teacher-scholars foster student success and academic excellence. As a faculty, we resolve to organize a union to protect this mission and the public good it has created. Through collective bargaining, we have the power to:
- Prioritize and protect the Teacher-Scholar model that drives Miami’s excellence in teaching and research
- Ensure Miami working conditions, compensation, and learning conditions reflect the Love and Honor that all students and faculty deserve, regardless of their identity, title, or rank
- Fulfill the promise of shared governance, administrative transparency, and due process
- Uphold & model principles of academic freedom
