FAM-L Bargaining, Day 17

At FAM-L bargaining today, we presented counters on Union Access to Information and Facilities, Association Rights, and Management Rights. Management keeps rejecting our Association Rights proposal, but we are standing firm. Our proposal will strengthen our already-unanimous union by ensuring our members get service recognition for their hard work in improving working conditions! Our members ought to be compensated for their hard work on behalf of FAM.

For their part, management countered on Grievance and Arbitration and Appointment Notices. They also rejected our Emeritus/a Librarians and Maintenance of Policies and Practices proposals. The former cements Emeritus/a benefits, while the latter would hold management to their own policies — something they are apparently unwilling to do.

You can read all proposals in full at our website!

Come out to our next FAM-L bargaining session on July 31 (Wilks Conference Center in Hamilton), and debrief with our Negotiating Team afterward at our Post-Bargaining Happy Hour at Hamilton’s Urban Backyard (the HUB) starting at 5:30 (food and drinks on us)! And check out all of our Hot FAM Summer events! ☀️🔥
