A special joint bargaining update
FAM-T bargained back to back yesterday and today, working hard for our members to get a FAIR CONTRACT NOW. It’s great to see the strong turnout for bargaining yesterday and today! Your visible support of FAM negotiations matters! Download your Stop Stalling Zoom background here: tinyurl.com/StopStall.
We passed across Compensation, Benefits, Leaves, Financial Exigency and Academic Reorganization, Grievance and Arbitration, and Appointment and Promotion of TT/T Faculty.
We have reached Tentative Agreements (TAs) on Professional Development Leaves, which protects faculty’s status quo access to Assigned Research Appointments and Faculty Improvement Leaves, and No Strike / No Lockout, which codifies state law about striking and lockouts into the contract.
We have continued to exchange counters on Compensation. Management has made minimal movement thus far, insisting that you are not worth more than an additional 0.25% per year. We disagree, and we have made substantial strides to ensure fair raises each year and strong salary floors for each rank.
Management continues to be set on eroding job protections for TCPL faculty. They took a step back by shortening the window of non-renewal notice for TCPL faculty from one year (current policy) to five months. We will continue, with your visible support and actions, to insist on job security protections for all members.
You can read all proposals in full at our website!
We need to win this contract — and so we need YOU to turn out next Monday, November 11 at noon for our March for Thanks. We’ll be delivering 🍂 handwritten notes 🍂 to President Crawford demanding that management thank faculty and librarians in the form of fair raises, job security, and a fair contract now. RSVP here to help us close out this contract! The power to win this contract lies with you!
