FAM-T Bargaining, Day 34

New Year. New Management Lawyer. New Delays

On our 492nd day of working without a contract, we got to meet Management’s third new lawyer…along with all the other delays Management has brought to the process, including but not limited to: picking arbitrary fights, writing arcane interpretations of Ohio law that teeter on the edge of legality, and even making another error in their Benefits counter this morning — for the second time in a row. It was up to our team to make Management correct their proposal again, and even bring their new lawyer up to speed on past discussions and negotiations.

Even in the face of all these absurdities, our team remains committed to making forward progress and reclaiming the momentum from last year. Everything Management presented in the morning, our team countered in the afternoon. After the morning session, our negotiating team spent most of the day working on counters, while management came back with no new proposals.

In total, we passed across nine proposals today on your key issues, including Benefits, Faculty Evaluations, and Compensation. We stand firm on ensuring you receive the job security and compensation you deserve. As we eagerly await the next bargaining session, our team has only two proposals to work on; Management has the remaining TEN proposals
