Today at FAM-T bargaining, we exchanged nearly all of our outstanding articles and made substantive progress on Compensation and TCPL job security. Most notably, we got management to agree to presumptive renewal for Full and Senior TCPL faculty — a major win for our members that we’ve been fighting for since 2023.

In the morning, FAM presented a package counter on Financial Exigency and Academic Reorganization; Appointment, Renewal, and Promotion of TCPL Faculty; Faculty Evaluations; and Performance Improvement Plans. We stood firm on job security for our members and on no references to post-tenure review in the contract (we got them to remove all remaining post-tenure review language).
Management countered on Compensation, Benefits, Leaves, and Performance Improvement Plans in the morning. Their counters bring the parties closer on all fronts. Notably, we got management to agree to make our members whole when the contract is ratified, meaning any wages owed to members from the 2023 and 2024 academic years will be paid out.
FAM countered on Compensation in the afternoon, holding to our position that our members deserve fair, compounding annual wage increases and a substantive ratification bonus. We also countered on Leaves and Benefits, bringing us close to agreement on both articles.
Finally, we asked management if they would be willing to remove their language from Association Rights that we believe is illegal. If they do so, we will withdraw our ULP.
