We are the Faculty Alliance of Miami (FAM). Through teaching, research, and community involvement, we generate the knowledge and dialogue that a democratic society requires from a public university. Every day, across ranks and campuses, Miami’s teacher-scholars foster student success and academic excellence. Through organizing, as Miami’s faculty and librarians union, we resolve to protect this mission and the public good it has created.
Through collective bargaining, we have the power to:
- Prioritize and protect the Teacher-Scholar model that drives Miami’s excellence in teaching and research
- Ensure Miami working conditions, compensation, and learning conditions reflect the Love and Honor that all students and faculty deserve, regardless of their identity, title, or rank
- Fulfill the promise of shared governance, administrative transparency, and due process
- Uphold & model principles of academic freedom.
