Individually, faculty and librarians have little control over our working lives, but together, we have the power to create a better Miami. As a union, you and your colleagues would have the legal right to negotiate with the university on terms and conditions of your employment, including
- Practicing shared governance that actively includes faculty in university decision-making
- Creating transparent workload expectations and preventing exploitation by enforcing existing workload policy
- Ensuring adequate and fair compensation for all faculty
- Clarifying expectations around promotion and tenure
- Increasing job security for NTT faculty
